Regular cleaning of components can help you maintain your AC’s efficiency

Have you bought an air conditioner recently? If you haven’t used this type of electronic appliance before, then you are likely to face maintenance issues in the near future, especially during the off season. Some of the most vulnerable parts of the Klimaanlage system include its filters, fins and coils. Often the condenser and evaporator coils dirt in course of a few months. If the filter of your AC is clean then it can check the soling of the evaporator coil. But over a period of time, dirt build up can happen within it, reducing airflow and enclosing the coil, thereby reducing its heat absorption capacity. Therefore, regular cleaning of the evaporator is essential.

The outdoor condenser coils can also become very dirty over a span of time. Some of the most common sources of debris include fallen leaves, lawn mower and dryer vents.Removing the debris and cleaning the region close to the coil will ensure efficient air flow around the condenser. The aluminum fins on both these coils can be bent and block airflow through them. Using a tool known as ‘ fin comb’, you can fix the fins back to their actual condition.

Apart from coils and fins, another area which needs cleaning on a daily basis are the filters. The functionality of your AC requires their regular cleaning. Dirty filters often tend to block the flow of air, and have a bad impact on its efficiency. When normal air flow faces is blocked, the air that diverts from the filter can carry dirt into the evaporator coil, and reduce its capacity to absorb heat. By replacing a dirty filter, you can lower your AC’s consumption of power substantially.
